Italians celebrate a tradition they have been carrying out for more than 50 years and plunge into the Tiber river.
Winter temperatures did not stop the group of Romans from taking adip into the dirty and cold waters of the river, which runs through the centre of Rome.
A crowd of spectators gathered around the Cavour bridge to see the traditional activity.
Each year, at around midday, the divers jump from the bridge, some gracefully and some less so, for the enjoyment of the many onlookers.
The public, fighting the cold in heavy coats and furs, applauded the divers enthusiastically, including a driver called Mister OK – real name is Giuseppe Palmulli – who has been diving at the event for over 20 years.
