Young artist Yi Hong from Shanghai posted on her YouTube channel a piece of her artwork. A portrait of NBA superstar Yao Ming created using just a bucket of red paint and a basketball.

nagajournal reports :

Shanghai based artist Yi Hong created an incredible portrait of Chinese NBA star Yao Ming using just a bucket of red paint and a basketball.

‘Here’s a painting of NBA superstar Yao Ming I did, with some red paint and a basketball!’ she wrote. ‘I guess all those years of basketball training in high school did come in handy!’

Slowly but surely, the face of the NBA star begins to take shape, and apart from a few moments when she is checking a printed sketch for accuracy, her eyes are always on the ball.

Yi describes herself as an artists who, ‘Loves to paint, but without a paintbrush!’

I Moved to Shanghai for work May 2011 and I’m loving this crazy, face-paced city!’ she writes.

The video has already attracted over 271,000 views, and the artist has spoken out on her Facebook page about how flattered she is.
