
The Card Players is the Cezanne’s painting that was bought by a Qatari Royal Family for the record amount £158,4 million.

The Qatari royal family paid the staggering sum – a world record – for The Card Players.
It smashed the previous highest price – £88.7million paid for a Jackson Pollock painting in 2006.
Victor Wiener, the fine art appraiser called in by Lloyd’s of London, acknowledged £158.4million was a “fortune” but praised the artwork’s significance.
The Metropolitan Museum’s The Card Players, which depicts four men, is thought to be the first in the series.
Cezanne’s final three only featured two card players, with the Qatari royal family buying the work from shipping magnate George Embiricos, who died last year.
